Special showcase in Hamburg@Bambi Galore the 3rd of September!
In case you already didn’t know we are proud to announce that we are doing a special showcase in Hamburg at Bambi Galore Friday the 3rd of September. In order to promote our new album titled Apocalyptic due for a release in late October we are going to play a couple of tracks live from the album for the first time. Joining in as supports the 3rd of September are also our Swedish label mates Facebreaker and the local act Human Debris.
It’s no big secret that Evocation in the past and the present has used EMG Pickups for all recordings and live performances so therefore we are very pleased to announce that Evocation and EMG Pickups has joined a partnership for the future. EMG Pickups is and will always be our first choice since there is no other pickup that can give the essential tone needed to get the Swedish Death Metal Sound!
When it comes to strings there has been one choice for Evocation ever since the early 90s - D’Addario Strings! We play quite down tuned, in B-flat to be precise. When we started to play in this note back in 1991 we discovered quite early that it was not possible to do so with ordinary strings. The sound became to blurry, so therefore we had to find something else. Fortunately we found the D’Addario EJ22 string set. A bit thicker strings then usual – perfect for Swedish Death Metal played in B-flat! And now to finally have an endorsement deal with D’Addario Strings feels like coming home.
Also we are very pleased to announce the co-operation with AKG who will supply Evocation with state of the art wireless systems. When it comes to wireless systems there is probably no one else then AKG who can deliver such top quality systems. This has also been verified in the industry since the WMS 450 Guitar System has been chosen as the best wireless system of the category.
We are proud to announce that drummer Janne K. Bodén of Evocation now is sponsored by dB Drumshoes. Janne thereby joins an impressive artist rooster consisting of drummers such as; Chris Adler – Lamb of God, Daniel Erlandsson – Arch Enemy, Paul Mazurkewictz – Cannibal Corpse, Dave McClain – Machine Head and many more…

Recording Update and New Album Title - Apocalyptic!
Hi there everyone, thought I would give you a short update on the situation in the studio. Everything is progressing just as we planned, yesterday we finished laying down all guitars except for solos which we are planning to do almost last. So far we have done drums, guitars and bass.
By the way, for the drums we had some amazing help this time – Roberto Laghi (Producer for In Flames etc.). And the result - well to be honest I haven’t ever heard such an amazing drum sound… Prepare to be blown away… Same goes for the guitars and the bass as well – the sound has progressed and is more evil than ever!
Next up to get to work is Thomas (vocals). After having heard his ideas for the vocal patterns together with the songs we all feel very confident that this album will become by far our strongest achievement up to date. It might sound like a cliché but trust me and wait until the album is released…
Also we can now finally reveal that the new album title is – Apocalyptic. Release date will probably be sometime in October.
Cheerz,

Pre-recordings for new album!
"Dear brothers and sisters it´s Januari 2010 and it´s cold, dark and kinda depressive. This is the perfect conditions for us to start recording our full length no3 which is also once again going to be released by the mighty Cyclone Empire in the fall this year, we´re aiming at October. We have 11 new tracks and right now we are finishing up our pre-recordings and we have to say that it feels really good. The sound will be more raw but it will still be as Evocation as one can expect - plain, raw & brutal. Some of the new songs will hit your face´s with such a force that you will have trouble recovering afterwards. We leave 2009 with proud faces, having such a good festival summer and last but not least the mighty European tour together with Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and Obscura. All of the bands were amazing both in private as on stage. This leaves us nothing but strength and confidence for the next album and hunger for more, more and more. So our dear friends we see you soon, and prepare your selfs for a reunion in war."
